Spay/Neuter

Thank you for choosing to spay & neuter! Spay/Neuter vouchers can be obtained by either mailing in your application with required documents or by coming to our shelter during open hours, Tuesdays-Saturdays from 9:30am-3:00pm. Our vouchers are valid for 3 months from the issue date, so make your appointments early!

Shelter State Required Voucher Program

The HSOTC has a state required voucher program for any kitten or puppy adopted from our shelter that was too small to be spayed/neuter prior to going home.  The $40 voucher is added to their adoption fee, and can be used at any Tuolumne County and some Calaveras County veterinary practices.

Spay & Neuter Low Income Voucher Program

The Spay & Neuter Group of the HSOTC has a targeted spay/neuter low income voucher program aimed at assisting those residents most in need. The voucher(s) help reduce the cost of spaying or neutering the pets of qualifying Tuolumne County residents (verification of low income required). Helping to reinforce this program is our local participating veterinarians who reduce their fees in accordance with the terms and conditions of the voucher. If an application is approved and funding is available, the voucher covers a portion of the cost with the balance covered by the client. No more than four vouchers per household, per year, may be used.
